At long last, Congress suggesting UFOs are not human

SALT LAKE CITY — Looks like lawmakers in Congress are starting to take UFOs seriously now.

UFOs were recently renamed UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) and now they are called UAUP (unidentified aerospace-undersea phenomena).

According to lawmakers, under the newest definition of UAUP, there are “transmedium” objects that travel from space to the atmosphere seamlessly and from the atmosphere to the sea seamlessly.

Maybe that wasn’t a weather balloon

Marik Von Rennenkampff, opinion contributor for The Hill and former analyst at the Department of State and Defense, talks with KSL at Night hosts Leah Murray and Cate Klundt to talk about how lawmakers are now implying that what used to be called UFOs may not be from this Earth.

Rennenkampff’s opinion piece in The Hill: Congress implies UFOs have non-human origins

But remember, over the past 70 years, the US government has called all UFO activity man-made: weather balloon, aircraft, drones, satellites, etc. Anything but non-human.

Beginning in the summer of 1952, the U.S. government initiated a  campaign to “debunk” and discredit all UFO sightings, no matter how credible. For decades, officials mocked any suggestion that UFOs had extraterrestrial origins.

                                                                                                                                             Marik Von Rennenkampff

This is a big change. (Yes, those little green men may actually be out there.)

Now, “man-made” objects “should not be considered under the definition as unidentified aerospace-undersea phenomena [UAUP],” according to Congress as noted in Rennenkampff’s piece.

In other words, Congress is pushing government agencies to focus on aerial phenomenon that are not man-made.

Bipartisan agreement on UFOs

He said UAUP is one of the few subjects that has gained support from Democrats and Conservatives.

“[Former] CIA Director John Brennan was one of Donald Trump’s fiercest opponents,” Rennenkampff’s said. “. . . At the same time, Donald Trump’s former Director of National Intelligence, a guy named John Radcliffe, handpicked by Trump, . . . they are saying the exact same thing about UFOs.

“They’re saying there’s technology here that is way beyond anything that we have — that presents potentially a threat. We don’t know. John Brennan has openly said . . . that what we’re seeing might, I’m quoting here, ‘might constitute a different form of life.'”

Von Rennenkampff quoted from a US Intelligence report.

“It’s a direct quote in Congress, ‘Transmedium threats — so again, objects that are going water to air to space seamlessly in ways that we don’t understand — to the United States national security are expanding exponentially,” he said.

In closing, Von Rennenkampff said to the KSL at Night hosts: “Please stay on the story. Any way you slice it it’s a big deal.”
