SALT LAKE CITY — On Saturday, Aug. 2 at 6:00 p.m., a protest will be held at Washington Square Park as part of the nationwide event Rage Against the Regime day of protest. All over the nation, thousands of other protests will be held.

Local citizens will be gathering to protest their concerns of government misconduct from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

  • The cover-up of the Epstein files and lack of accountability for the powerful
  • ICE operations in OUR Country, which spread fear and undermine immigrant communities
  • The erosion of due process and increasing disregard for constitutional protections
  • The defunding of public media, threatening free and independent journalism
  • Attacks on higher education and restrictions on academic freedom
  • The damaging effects of the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” on Utah’s people and environment
  • And much more, including unchecked corruption, inequality, and the silencing of dissent

Coordinators of the event say it will be family-friendly, nonviolent, and open to all. And people are encouraged to bring signs, water, and a spirit of unity and resistance.

The American Celtic punk band  “The Dropkick Murphys” will also be playing an acoustic set at the protest. They will play at 6:30 p.m. sharp.
