Hunter Biden found guilty in federal gun trial

WILMINGTON, Del. — A jury has found Hunter Biden guilty on all charges in his federal gun trial.
Associated Press reported that the jury found Hunter Biden guilty on all three charges after three hours of deliberations. Additionally, the AP said that Biden had possession of the gun for 11 days. Then, his brother’s widow threw it in the trash.

The president’s son could now face 25 years in prison and up to $750,000 in fines, CNN reported. The judge will decide the extent of his punishment. However, it is unlikely that Biden will receive the full penalty.
What led the jury to find Hunter Biden guilty?
A segment from KSL NewsRadio’s Dave & Dujanovic follows. It has been edited for brevity and clarity.
Debbie Dujanovic: Hunter Biden, the president’s, son has been convicted on all three counts that he was facing at his trial regarding the illegal purchase of a gun. My understanding is [that] after he purchased it, he kept it for a very short time. But he was accused of lying on a form to make that purchase.
Dave Noriega: Yeah, the question on the form was ‘Are you addicted to any illegal drugs right now?’ And he said ‘no.’ The prosecution gave ample evidence, [an] overwhelming amount of evidence [that he lied.] Even Hunter Biden’s book talked about his drug use during that time. Then the defense tried to twist [it] and say ‘Well during this specific little sliver of time when he purchased the gun, he thought that he was in recovery.’ The [defense] obviously failed in that argument.
Dujanovic: Of course, as the general course of action goes in any case like this, I’m sure there will be an appeal as soon as [it can be filed.] Dave, you were looking into the timeline for sentencing, what were you able to find out?
Noriega: It looks like somewhere between two and four months, according to News Nation. I was listening in on that. 25 years sounds very intense and [like] a very harsh sentence, They said ‘Don’t be surprised if he served somewhere between a year of time in prison.’
