In speech at UVU, former vice president discusses protecting freedoms

OREM, Utah — Former Vice President Mike Pence delivered a speech Tuesday at Utah Valley University.
In his speech to roughly 700 people, Pence lays out what he says are freedoms that need to be protected, which included abortion, nuclear families, stricter immigration and a free market economy.
He was also asked tough questions by students.
One student asked the former vice president what his reason was for investigating to see if he could change the result of the 2020 election.
Pence responded, “I don’t recall that I did.”
Pence added that Jan. 6, 2022, was a tragic day, saying “the system was tested, but it prevailed.”
In an exclusive interview with Boyd Matheson on Inside Sources, Pence talked about his version of immigration reform.
“What does Utah need today? Whether that’s agriculture, whether that’s information technology,” Pence said. “And then stylize the access that we give people into the country, the visas that are granted into the country based on the needs of our country.”
Perhaps, the toughest question of all that Pence face during his time at UVU came from a student named Cade. The student asked Pence if he was planning to run for President in 2024.
Pence leaned to an advisor, paused then said, “Cade, I’ll keep ya posted.”
