SALT LAKE CITY— In a matter of hours, we will know the results of a recount in the primary election battle for Utah’s 2nd Congressional District U.S. House seat.

Rep. Celeste Maloy won the race by just 214 votes. Her challenger, Colby Jenkins, requested a recount last week since the margin between the two was within .25%.

According to a post by Utah Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson on X Saturday, 11 of the 13 counties in the district have already completed their recounts.

Iron and Washington Counties were the only two still counting, according to the post.

As of Monday morning, the state’s election results website showed Iron and Washington Counties still hadn’t reported any voting results yet. Though, the totals were last updated just before 5 p.m. Friday.

A spokesperson for the Lt. Gov.’s Office told KSL NewsRadio all 13 counties must have their recount results submitted by the end of Monday.

The Lt. Gov. is expected to certify the results on Tuesday.
