Utah’s leaders share thoughts on the life of late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King

SALT LAKE CITY — Monday was a day to remember the life and work of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King. To honor his legacy, Monday was also a day of service and activities throughout the state.

Many of Utah’s elected leaders went to social media Monday to share their thoughts on one of the prominent leaders of the civil rights movement.

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said King was a man who cherished thoughtful change. He also shared a video with all Utahns inviting them to learn more about King.

Utah Sen. Mitt Romney shared his thoughts on King’s commitment to service and freedom.

 

Utah Sen. Mike Lee also went to Twitter to share his thoughts on the holiday.

 

Utah Rep. Blake Moore asked that we continue to show love to our neighbors just as King asked. 

Rep. Chris Stewart wrote that we should continue to make this a better country for everyone.

 

Rep Burgess Owens stressed the importance of faith.

Rep. John Curtis wrote that we should honor King by remembering those qualities that he stood for.
