Help KSL understand your concerns about the Jordan River

KSL NewsRadio wants to hear from you about how you enjoy, visit and use the Jordan River and the Jordan River Trail.

It’s widely known that water quality is a major deterrent to folks enjoying the river corridor. So, we also want to know how water quality affects how you use the river.

The information you provide will be used in research and could potentially be included in stories that could appear in media along the Wasatch Front. Your personal stories could also be featured on our website and in our free newsletter.

Many see the Jordan River and its corridor of parks and trails as an urban oasis in the middle of the Salt Lake Valley.

But the river corridor still requires more care. The waterway itself has low dissolved oxygen levels, experiences harmful algae blooms and carries more E. coli than water quality standards allow. Along its banks, unsheltered homelessness, trash and aging park amenities have forced some to change how and when they use the Jordan River Trail.

We are embarking on a new reporting project to learn more about the Jordan River’s flows and possible solutions to its vexing water quality issues.
