Meteorologist says only a couple more weeks of snow and rain

SALT LAKE CITY — As we enter the month of April, snow and rain are going to continue for the next few weeks.
KSL meteorologist Kevin Eubank is calling the first few months of the year Snow-vid 2023. Because just like it felt COVID-19 would never end, there now seems like there is no end in sight with the snow.
“What we are experiencing right now is really typical for the end of February, first of March,” Eubank said. “Instead of the end of March, the first of April.”
However, there could be light at the end of the tunnel for this winter-like weather.
After the next couple of weeks, Eubank says the state will start warming up and will get a break in mid-April.
However, it will be a slow warm up.
The current storm of rain and snow
As for right now, the National Weather Service issued Winter Weather Advisories on Wednesday for the mountains of Utah. These advisories are set to expire at various times between Thursday into Friday.
“These advisories will cover multiple rounds of snow accumulations and impacts, including overnight into Thursday morning and Thursday evening into Friday morning,” the NWS wrote in a social media post.
The NWS says an additional 1 to 2 feet of snow is expected in the Wasatch Mountains through Friday. The Unitas and Skyline Mountains could see 6 to 12 inches of snow, according to the NWS.
Four to 10 inches are expected along the Wasatch Front benches and the Wasatch Back. Additionally, certain areas in northern Utah could receive 1 to 3 inches of snow.
With heavy snow expected Thursday night into Friday, the NWS says the Friday morning commute will be impacted, especially along the bench routes. It says snow will slowly diminish by Friday night.
