Schools, commute delayed by early morning lake effect snow

DAVIS COUNTY, Utah — The Davis School District is delaying classes by two hours because of all the lake effect snow.
Due to snow accumulation, schools in the Davis School District will implement a two-hour late start on Tuesday, November 29.
High schools will start at 9:30 a.m., junior highs at 10:10 and elementary schools at 10:50. All district school busses will be on a two-hour delay. pic.twitter.com/3W9a1jvsFT

A couple of Ascent Academy charter schools — the Lehi campus and the Farmington campus — are delaying their start this morning by two hours as well.
“This is lake effect in full swing,” said meteorologist Kristen Van Dyke to Utah’s Morning News.
And it’s clear from the preliminary snow totals the National Weather Service is reporting:

The East Side Belt of I-215 is at a standstill as many cars cannot get up the hill from 6200 South to 3300 South. Several vehicles have slid off the roads, others are stopped blocking lanes of travel.

The drive through I-80 isn’t much better. There are four lanes available through this stretch of EB I-80, but only two lanes are in use right now.

And a crash on I-15 in Utah County is delaying Spanish Fork drivers to Payson.
