DAVIS COUNTY, Utah — The Davis School District is delaying classes by two hours because of all the lake effect snow.

You can learn more about the snow delay procedures for Davis School District here.

A couple of Ascent Academy charter schools — the Lehi campus and the Farmington campus — are delaying their start this morning by two hours as well.

“This is lake effect in full swing,” said meteorologist Kristen Van Dyke to Utah’s Morning News.

And it’s clear from the preliminary snow totals the National Weather Service is reporting:

The East Side Belt of I-215 is at a standstill as many cars cannot get up the hill from 6200 South to 3300 South. Several vehicles have slid off the roads, others are stopped blocking lanes of travel.

The drive through I-80 isn’t much better. There are four lanes available through this stretch of EB I-80, but only two lanes are in use right now.

And a crash on I-15 in Utah County is delaying Spanish Fork drivers to Payson.

This is a developing story and will be updated.

We want to hear from you.
