SALT LAKE CITY — Today you could probably get away with a light jacket as temperatures reach the upper 50s to nearly 60. Tomorrow’s going to remain pretty balmy for the weekend before Thanksgiving, with temperatures in the upper 50s.

KSL Meteorologist Kristen Van Dyke said this is in fact the warm before the storm with the atmospheric river that’s been dumping rain on California coming in tomorrow evening.

“Snow will start to develop Saturday night and will linger on and off through Sunday. And we could even see a few more snow showers [on] Monday,” she said. “For the Valleys, we’re going to see more of a rain-snow mix. We could potentially [be] waking up to a dusting of snow early Sunday morning before it starts to mix back with some rain and moves out Sunday afternoon.

“Out of this first hit of the storm, we could see anywhere from 12 to 18 inches for the Cottonwoods, and then for the Wasatch Back we could see 4 to 8 inches of snow.”

All the snow expected this weekend means more early openings for the ski resorts, with Alta and Park City Mountain Resort set to open today. Deer Valley is expecting to have their earliest opening ever, with lifts set to start running next weekend.
