Utah will get an additional rain early next week

SALT LAKE CITY — Saturday was a cold, wet day for much of northern Utah. And additional rain is in the forecast for Utah early next week.
According to the National Weather Service out of Salt Lake City (NWS), rain is expected Monday for most of Utah and southwest Wyoming. The rain is expected to start Monday afternoon and will last well into Monday night.
Rain totals of more than 1 inch are expected in certain northern Utah valleys. The NWS says the mountains could receive even more than that.
Areas outside of northern Utah could receive anywhere from .25 to .75 of a inch of rain.
Before the rain arrives, however, there will be wind.
The NWS says there will be strong winds in certain parts of the state from Sunday night into Monday. A High Wind Warning has been issued for western Utah, where wind guts could reach 60 mph.
The NWS also says a High Wind Watch has been issued for the Wasatch Front for Sunday night into Monday. Travelers on east-west routes could face adverse conditions.
There will be drier conditions on Wednesday.
