SALT LAKE CITY — A crash involving a motorcycle caused a complete closure of southbound I-15 near Point of the Mountain on Sunday.

Utah Highway Patrol says a male was riding recklessly, lost control of his bike, and crashed into the back of a car. He was transported to the hospital by a medical helicopter with non-life-threatening injuries. According to UHP, he was wearing a helmet.

Traffic was being diverted off the freeway at 14600 S in Bluffdale. I-15 was expected to be completely re-opened by 8 p.m.
