SALT LAKE CITY — A crash on southbound Interstate 15 near Midvale left one man dead and the southbound interstate completely blocked on Monday.
According to Utah Highway Patrol’s Lt. Cam Roden, a box truck was on the right shoulder of the interstate when a passenger car ran into the back of the truck.
Roden said the man driving the passenger car was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly after 4 p.m. the same day, the Utah Department of Transportation announced the interstate was cleared and all lanes had reopened. However, residual delays remained from South Salt Lake to Sandy.
