Man accused of homicide after 2 people reported missing

SPRINGVILLE — A man was arrested and accused of homicide in Springville on Saturday.
Sarah Johnson and John Handricks were last seen at Johnson’s house on the evening of March 19, according to police.
On April 6, Springville Patrol officers received unconfirmed information that Sarah Johnson and John Handricks had possibly been shot and killed.
There were witnesses outside of Johnson’s residence, and one reportedly heard possible gunshots inside.
Springville police officers and detectives located and interviewed potential witnesses and learned that Sarah Johnson and John Handricks were last seen with Johnson’s son, Matthew Leonard, 28, at Johnson’s house in Springville on March 20.
During the search of the residence on Saturday, Springville Police and Utah County Sheriff’s Department personnel said they located evidence of blood, shell casings, and a bullet slug.
Springville Police said Johnson’s son, Leonard, was taken into custody on Saturday.
According to police, the location of Johnson and Handricks is still under investigation.
