Minor found wounded after gunshots reported in Provo; search for shooter continues

PROVO — A juvenile was found wounded in Provo after multiple gunshot reports were made on Thursday night, according to Provo police. There were no arrests made in connection to the case by Friday afternoon.

The Provo Police Department said officers responded to multiple gunshots on Thursday near Lions Park at 1280 N. 950 West.

Police said no one in the area appeared to be injured. However, a nearby home window was damaged after it had apparently been shot.

While officers searched for suspects, reports came in saying a minor was found with a gunshot wound somewhere in Orem. The victim was taken to Utah Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said there is no immediate risk to the community, and said investigators were actively following up on leads.

Provo investigators said, “We encourage anyone with helpful information or tips to call us at 801 852 6210.”
