SALT LAKE CITY — A six-year-old child and his 34-year-old mother have been located.

The St. George Police Department reported that Mersadee Ann Jacobs had left her residence in St. George, in the area of 800 South 400 East, around 10 p.m. on Monday, May 11, along with her son.

Jacobs reportedly suffers from depression as well as an undiagnosed mental condition. Police report her child is afraid of her.

According to a police statement, Jacobs has made statements “as recently as one week ago that she doesn’t want to live, and in the past has stated she will take her kids with her if she dies.”

“While this case does not rise to the level of an Amber Alert, finding this mother and son as soon as possible is crucial,” police continued in a statement.
