Between a rock and a hard place: Bernese mountain dog rescued from park in Washington

SALT LAKE CITY—Police officers in Tacoma, Washington, rescued a Bernese mountain dog from a sticky situation after it wandered away from home and got stuck in a rocky area.
The Tacoma Police Department shared body camera footage of the dog’s rescue on social media Friday.
The video captured a concerned resident showing officers to a spot in Tacoma Chinese Reconciliation Park where the dog had gotten stuck.
Police said the dog had wandered out of its yard and found itself stuck on “some cold, wet rocks.”
In the video, an officer comforts the dog as rescuers try different methods to lift the Bernese off the rocks.
Police successfully used a tarp to lift the dog up. The dog was able to move freely once rescued.
Tacoma police said they took the Bernese to the Humane Society, where they were able to reunite the dog with its owners.
