NEW YORK — The New York Jets’s 25-6 loss to New England on Sunday was a game former BYU quarterback Zach Wilson would like to forget.

Wilson finished the game 19-of-33 passing for 210 yards and four interceptions. He was also sacked four times for a loss of 26 yards.

The tone of the day was set early for Wilson. His first two pass attempts were intercepted.

“When your first two passes are interceptions,” Wilson said in a press conference after Sunday’s game. “It’s tough to find that rhythm.”

In all, Wilson’s four interceptions came in his first 11 pass attempts of the game.

“I got to start better,” Wilson said. “And really we got to execute across the board. It’s on my shoulders. I got to do better.”

As a result of the team’s struggles, fans began booing the Jets during the second half of Sunday’s game.

“They should be booing,” Wilson said. “We didn’t play well on offense. Our defense gave us a good chance to win. (The Jets) didn’t execute. We didn’t move the ball and we didn’t score any points. We got to do a better job there.”

Last season at BYU, Wilson was only intercepted three times the entire season in 336 pass attempts.

The Jets (0-2) will play at Denver (2-0) next Sunday.
