SALT LAKE CITY — Two women were hit by a car while crossing a street in Salt Lake City Thursday night, and both sustained serious injuries.
Detective Dalton Beebe with the Salt Lake City Police Department said the accident happened at 300 E. S. Temple at approximately 7 p.m.
“During the investigation, officers determined the driver failed to properly yield to the two pedestrians crossing the street,” Beebe said.
Both women were taken to the hospital in serious but non-life-threatening condition. However, one of them was reportedly downgraded at the hospital and is now considered to be in critical but stable condition, Beebe said.
The driver was cited for the accident. Police do not believe weather was a factor in the crash.
