Cows on I-15 interrupt the morning commute in Spanish Fork

SPANISH FORK — Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cameron Roden said there were cows on southbound I-15 near the US-6 Interchange in Spanish Fork disrupting this morning’s commute.
According to Roden, the cows managed to get through a fence and ended up on the freeway just after 5:30am. Lanes were cleared and reopened around 9 a.m.
“Two or three of them were hit and killed by multiple vehicles, including a semitruck,” Roden said.

Two right lanes of the freeway were closed, backing up traffic into Springville. Roden said there is no word on where the cows came from, but it will take time to clean up the debris from cars and other vehicles.
Only minor injuries were reported.
