UDOT repaving Legacy Parkway, traffic down to one lane overnight

FARMINGTON, Utah — Starting Monday night, the Utah Department of Transportation will start repaving Legacy Parkway.

Drivers using Legacy Parkway overnight should be prepared for delays and lane restrictions, as the re-pavement will render Legacy Parkway down to one operable lane in both directions. 

“At certain points we could see delays of up to 10 to 15 minutes,” UDOT Spokesman John Gleason said. “Consider using an alternate route if you are traveling within the overnight hours.”

UDOT anticipates the construction will start at 6 p.m. every night. They plan to end construction before the morning commute, at around 5 a.m.

The construction will take place between 500 South in Bountiful and the I-15 ramps in Farmington.

According to a UDOT press release, along with repaving, “crews will restripe the highway and install new signs.” 

UDOT said they anticipate the project’s completion by the end of September. 

UDOT repaves these roads every few years in order to keep the roads well maintained.

“We’re always working to provide Utahns a safe and comfortable ride,” Region One Director Rob Wight said in the press release. “We want to take care of what we have and ensure that these roads are in great shape and last for years to come.”
