Motorcyclist killed after crashing on I-84

SALT LAKE CITY — A man is dead after crashing his motorcycle on Interstate 84 on Friday morning in Morgan County.
The Department of Public Safety said the motorcyclist was driving a red Harley-Davidson in the left lane while heading eastbound at 8:47 a.m.
“For an unknown reason, the driver failed to navigate a curve and drifted off the left shoulder into the median,” the DPS said.

According to the DPS, the man struck a cable barrier and was killed when he was thrown from the motorcycle.
Lt. Cam Roden with the Utah Highway Patrol said a helicopter responded to the location of the accident, however the man died at the scene.
Roden also said both eastbound and westbound lanes were closed as the helicopter responded. Those lanes are now open to drivers.
