I-15 reopens in Sandy after road damage causes traffic to stop

SANDY — Traffic was stopped Friday morning on northbound Interstate 15 in Sandy between 11400 South and 9000 South.
At one point, the Utah Department of Transportation cameras showed vehicles at a complete stop, with people seen exiting their cars. According to Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Takesha Durrant, road damage caused the standstill.

According to UDOT, three left lanes were closed as a result. The roadway was back open by 11 a.m.
