New Church leaders announced at the April 2025 General Conference

SALT LAKE CITY — A new member of the Presidency of the Seventy, 16 new General Authority Seventies, and a new Young Men General Presidency were announced by President Dallin H. Oaks at the opening session of the 195th Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

According to a news release from the church, Elder Kevin R. Duncan will be replacing Elder José A. Teixeira as the Presidency of the Seventy, which will take effect on Aug. 5.

The sixteen new General Authority Seventies are:

Elder John D. Amos
Elder Ronald M. Barcellos
Elder Steven C. Barlow
Elder Kevin G. Brown
Elder B. Corey Cuvelier
Elder Michael Cziesla
Elder James E. Evanson
Elder Brik V. Eyre
Elder Ozani Farias
Elder Aaron T. Hall
Elder Brian J. Holmes
Elder Pedro X. Larreal
Elder Clement M. Matswagothata
Elder Eduardo F. Ortega
Elder Edward B. Rowe
Elder Wan-Liang Wu

The news release states the General Authority Seventies will serve full-time for the church. They are usually released in the year they turn 70 years old and are granted emeritus status.

The new Young Men General Presidency members are:

President Timothy L. Farnes
Brother David J. Wunderli, First Counselor
Brother Sean R. Dixon, Second Counselor

The new presidency members below will begin service on August 1, 2025.
