SALT LAKE CITY — Utah’s senators voted in support of the Big Beautiful Bill Tuesday morning, after an all-night “Vote-a-Rama.”

After nearly 30 hours of debate and updates to the bill, the Senate voted and was split 50-50. Vice President JD Vance broke the tie by voting yes as well.

Big Beautiful Bill “delivers for Utahns,” Curtis says

Sen. John Curtis posted on X that “the Big Beautiful Bill delivers for Utahns” by securing the border, providing tax relief for working families, strengthening the military, and making changes to energy credits.

The bill now returns to the House, where our Congress members will get to vote on the Senate’s changes.

Rep. Celeste Maloy spoke positively about the bill at Utah’s America 250 celebration Tuesday, in an interview she reposted on X. She says this bill will set the stage for the entire Trump economy that Republicans touted on the campaign trail.

Rep. Burgess Owens posted that it is “time to finish the job.” He said, “House Republicans will deliver on the mandate from the people to secure the border, cut taxes for families and workers, unleash U.S. energy, and put America FIRST.”

Rep. Blake Moore’s office says he is still working through all of the changes that happened in the Senate, before he comments.

Rep. Mike Kennedy’s office has not yet responded to calls for comment.
