SALT LAKE CITY — A year ago, Blake Jensen started “bread day” for his neighbor. Now, that day has turned into weekly orders from neighbors, his church, and family members.
The 12-year-old first learned the art of bread making from his mother, who learned from his grandmother.
“I went into young men’s (a youth program) with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I started making bread for the sacrament,” Jensen told KSL NewsRadio.
“Blake’s Bakes” is the name of his popular bread-making business. Jensen’s mom, sister, and dad helped design the label.
Aside from making bread for his neighbors, family, and church, Jensen said he wants to give back by helping the homeless community this Christmas.
“Every single Christmas, every single week, we do something nice for somebody,” said Jensen. “This year I want to make a few loaves and give them to homeless people.”
The baking legend in the making has dreams of opening a bakery.
