Elder David A. Bednar makes a ministry stop in Jordan

SALT LAKE CITY — Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints met with fellow church members and friends of the faith Friday in Amman, Jordan.
It was the first stop of Elder Bednar’s weeklong ministry to the Middle East and North Africa. It also Elder Bednar’s first visit to the country of Jordan.
“We have traveled halfway around the world to be with you today,” said Elder Bednar to an audience of nearly 100 members and friends at a devotional held at the Amman Branch Friday morning.
Elder Bednar asked those in attendance to continue to study the Book of Mormon.
“The Book of Mormon is not a book of history,” he said to those in attendance. “The Book of Mormon is a book about the future.”
Elder Bednar is being accompanied on the trip by his wife, Susan. She will provide additional strength to fellow church members, while meeting with government and other religious leaders.
