Evacuations ordered after Mill Canyon fire breaks out near Tibble Fork Reservoir

AMERICAN FORK — Campers in American Fork Canyon awoke Monday morning to an evacuation order after a fire ignited near Tibble Fork Reservoir, according to authorities in the area.
By late morning, the Mill Canyon fire had burned approximately 1/4 acre on the east side of Tibble Fork Reservoir.
According to the Utah Department of Transportation, state Route 144 was closed in both directions as crews worked to mitigate the flames.
KSL TV confirmed in the area that law enforcement asked campers to leave around 7 a.m.
