SALT LAKE CITY — An occupant of a Grand Cherokee that crashed and then was hit by another vehicle died at a hospital on Sunday.
According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, the driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling west on I-84 near mile marker 103 (approximately 525 North) when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle left the roadway.
Nearby, a semitruck described as having an enclosed trailer was stopped on the shoulder of I-84. DPS officials said the Grand Cherokee hit that semitruck and then reentered traffic where it was hit by another vehicle, a Chevy Silverado.
