Human remains found in Utah County canyon

PROVO, Utah — The Utah County Sheriff’s Office said human remains were found in the mountains east of Springville, Utah.
The remains were found by a climber, who called Utah County officials three days ago to report what he found in Springville Rock Canyon, one canyon north of the Lime Kiln.

The Utah County Sheriff’s Office said the skeletonized remains were found while the hiker climbed in steep terrain.
The Utah Medical Examiner has confirmed the remains are human, Utah County officials said.
Investigators said they don’t believe these remains are connected to a missing person case.
