HUNTSVILLE, Utah — After several days without water, Huntsville residents now have it for everything except drinking and cooking.
The water in Huntsville was initially shut off Friday afternoon, due to a leak in the town’s million-gallon storage tank.
According to a Facebook post from The Town of Huntsville Utah, crews have installed a “temporary connection” between the town’s water source and distribution system as of 9 p.m. Sunday.
The post clarifies that residents can use water from their taps, but not for drinking or cooking. If residents wish to use tap water for drinking or cooking, they must first boil it. It also urges residents to turn on their taps for a few minutes. This is to flush out any air trapped in the water lines.
At this time, the town still has no water in its storage tank, so it is urging its residents to conserve water.
