SALT LAKE CITY — The lack of parking at Brighton Ski Resort has social media users griping. Brighton Resort is one of a handful of resorts to require a parking reservation.
Parking at many resorts has become a big headache.
At Brighton, the resort requires reservations on the weekends but those are often gone as soon as they’re available.
Brighton’s Marketing Director, Jared Winkler said he understands the angst but said that they aren’t the only resort facing a parking shortage. Still, he worries about tourists who may not know reservations are required.
“If somebody comes on a whim or anything like that, then yeah, they’re gonna have a tough time [parking],” said Winkler
According to the resort, the parking situation has been a problem for years and they are slowly working on solutions.
Winkler said the resort is cracking down on people who make multiple reservations but are no-shows. Those people could lose privileges.
Winkler said they are working on other solutions as well and suggested taking the bus. However, he admitted the buses are often full, too.
