LEHI — Lehi High School was on lockdown just after noon Thursday after a parking attendant spotted a handgun in a student’s car.
Jeanteil Livingston with the Lehi Police Department said the parking attendant who saw the gun went to the school to report it, but when they went back, the gun was gone. This prompted the school to go on lockdown.
It was later determined the car belonged to a juvenile student. That student was seen entering the school by a security camera, then leaving with a group of students, Livingston said. She confirmed the school was no longer on lockdown after 1:30 p.m.
Police found both the car and the handgun, but they had not yet found the student, Livingston said. She confirmed the school was no longer on lockdown after 1:30 p.m.
Livingston said police were still at Lehi High School until the school was completely cleared out, but they didn’t think there was any threat to the school.
