SALT LAKE CITY — Monday marks three years since Russia invaded Ukraine. While many U.S. aid initiatives have scaled back or stopped, Utah’s Lifting Hands International continues its support for those affected by the war.

The organization is hitting a major milestone in its mission to help.
“We’ll be sending our 20th shipment of aid to Ukraine,” said Development Director Jessica Arch.
The shipment will include blankets, wheelchairs, hygiene items, and other essential supplies.
“We provide food and medical care that we deliver to isolated villages along the front lines. These are places where there’s no grocery stores, there’s no heat, there’s no water,” said Arch.
Lifting Hands International helping abroad and at home
Lifting Hands International not only delivers essential supplies to the front lines but also provides critical assistance to those in need and supports refugees at home.
The war forced Oksana Menbhnk to flee her home in Ukraine and seek refuge in Utah. Lifting Hands International stepped in, providing essential supplies like dishes and furniture to help her rebuild her life in the U.S.
“People who live in Utah, they (are) very kind for us and we love American people. Thank you,” said Menbhnk.
A shipping container with supplies will arrive in Ukraine this week.
According to Arch, the organization has service projects to help send aid to Ukraine. For volunteer opportunities or to donate you can visit their website.
