Man hospitalized after shooting in South Salt Lake on Saturday

SALT LAKE CITY — A man was hospitalized on Saturday night after a shooting in South Salt Lake.

According to South Salt Lake Police Officer Shaun Ward, officers were dispatched after hearing reports of shots fired near 900 W Timbercreek Way in South Salt Lake.

Ward said they found a man who was wounded at the scene. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Ward also said they had a suspect in custody in connection with the shooting. Police did not say if the two men knew each other.

The West Valley City Police Department, Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Unified Police Department and West Jordan Police Department all assisted with the investigation.
