Missing man found dead in Farmington Canyon Friday

SALT LAKE CITY — A man missing since Tuesday was found deceased in Farmington Canyon on Friday.

The Davis County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that it found the body of Matthew Bodle after a multi-day search in Farmington Canyon.

The sheriff’s office stated family members reported Bodle was dropped off at the canyon on Tuesday morning with a three-wheeler and camping equipment. His family became concerned when they couldn’t contact him, prompting them to reach out to the sheriff’s office on Wednesday.

That same day, the sheriff’s office began a search for Bodle, however, it did not locate him. Due to severe weather in the area on Thursday, the sheriff’s office states that the search was postponed to continue on Friday, which is when Bodle’s body was found.

At this time, the sheriff’s office stated it does not suspect foul play in Bodle’s death. It stated the Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the manner of death.
