Cruelty to animals, public nuisance among 637 misdemeanor charges against Ogden man

OGDEN — An Ogden man is facing more than 600 charges, after Ogden Animal Services said they found 150 dogs in his house last month.
Miguel Salgado Vargas, age 73, is facing counts of cruelty to animals, public nuisance, failing to get rabies vaccines for the dogs, and having unlicensed animals.
The dogs were reportedly found in poor condition on Tuesday, April 15. As KSL previously reported, the dogs were removed from the home that day.
According to the Humane Society of Utah the dogs found in the Ogden home varied in age and were all small mixed breeds.
Veterinarians later examined the dogs. Then, foster parents as well as multiple shelters stepped in to handle their care. By April 26, KSL TV reported that only a few of the dogs were still waiting to be adopted.
