Pedestrian hit, killed by car in Midvale, 2 drivers in critical condition

SALT LAKE CITY — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle on State Street in Midvale Monday morning.

According to Sgt. Aymee Race with the Unified Police Department, the crash happened near 7650 S State Street.

The pedestrian and two drivers were transported to the hospital in critical condition. The pedestrian passed away, and the two drivers remain in critical condition.

Race said the vehicle that hit the pedestrian swerved to try to avoid the person and ended up hitting another vehicle, downing an active power line on the other side of the street.
