Person hit and killed by TRAX train in Murray

SALT LAKE CITY — A woman is dead after being hit by a TRAX train at Murray Central Station Wednesday afternoon.

Gavin Gustafson with the Utah Transit Authority said initial reports state an 18-year-old woman was wearing headphones and didn’t see or hear the train coming when she was crossing to the other side of the platform, ultimately stepping in front of it.

The TRAX Red and Blue lines will see delays of up to an hour. Gustafson said a bus bridge will be in place.

He said this is an unfortunate accident and encourages everyone to “keep your wits about you.”
