SOUTH JORDAN, Utah — Police are investigating after neighbors reported hearing loud explosions in South Jordan.
According to posts on the South Jordan Citizens Facebook page, the noises were heard around 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 31, 2023.
Sgt. Eric Anderson with South Jordan Police said the explosions happened at 9891 S. Dunsinane Dr., in the parking lot of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His department received several calls, as did surrounding officials from surrounding agencies.
Anderson said police collected portions of materials that were left after the blast. An investigation continues, but Anderson said police believe the incident was “more than fireworks.”
