Portions of northbound State Street closed in SLC due to broken water main

SALT LAKE CITY — The northbound lanes of State Street were closed Tuesday due to a broken water main.
The Salt Lake City Police Department said the affected areas were from Kensington Avenue to 1300 South.
We currently have northbound State Street closed from Kensington Avenue to 1300 South for an apparent water main break.
The water flow has been stopped by @SLCPU.

Police said the water flow in the area was shut off by the Salt Lake City Department of Public Utilities.
The Utah Department of Transportation is expecting traffic delays to last for 12 hours, as public utilities officials assess the situation.
