Power outage impacting large portion of eastern Utah

SALT LAKE CITY — Utahns in Emery, Grand, and San Juan counties were experiencing a large power outage Tuesday night, according to Rocky Mountain Power.
The utility reports that their crews are investigating. They estimate that power could be off until 1 a.m. MST.

According to the National Weather Service, the area of the outage is contained within a Hazardous Weather Outlook. Those in the area may experience gusting winds from 25 to 35 miles per hour. The overnight low could reach 24 degrees.
How to stay warm in a power outage
To stay warm when the power is out:
- close curtains or blinds,
- put blankets or rugs on bare floors,
- wear layers of clothing (including hats, gloves, and socks),
- set up a small tent inside your home, and/or,
- huddle together.
