SALT LAKE CITY — Windy weather led to a cluster of power outages across northern Utah on Wednesday.
According to Rocky Mountain Power, initially, more than 8,000 customers, spanning from Logan to the southern end of Salt Lake County, were impacted by the outages.
As of 6 p.m., Rocky Mountain Power spokesperson Jona Whiteside said that number had dropped to about 6,200 impacted customers.
“Those customers are located anywhere from Salt Lake City proper down to Midvale, (and areas) east of I-15. Each person’s estimated time of restoration depends on where they live,” he said.
Rocky Mountain Power originally reported that a large portion of affected residents are near Salt Lake County’s east bench, with more than 2,300 customers impacted, and in South Salt Lake, where more than 1,000 people are affected by the winds.
A photo sent to KSL showed power poles down on 1700 South between 2100 and 2300 East. Another photo shows a trampoline that blew into a neighbor’s semi-trailer in Riverdale.
