RIVERTON, Utah — Riverton Mayor Trent Staggs says he will run for the U.S. Senate in 2024.

“Right now, Washington is broken,” Staggs said in a video tweeted from his Riverton Mayor account, “and every time we compromise, it costs us trillions.
The video takes aim at Sen. Mitt Romney and claims Sen. Romney has not fulfilled the promises he made when he ran for the senate.
Staggs has been mayor of Riverton since 2017. He lost a race against Jenny Wilson for Salt Lake County Mayor in 2020.
