ROY — A woman in her 20s was hit by a car while in a crosswalk in Roy on Friday.
The woman was crossing the road near 1900 W 4400 S. The driver, an approximately 70-year-old male, was turning left on 1900 W when his car struck the woman at a crosswalk. The car was going under 20 miles per hour.
The woman was taken to the hospital, but Roy police don’t believe her injuries are major. Police also say intoxication does not appear to be a factor in the accident.
This is the same intersection where an 11-year-old boy was hit last month. That boy is recovering, but will have permanent injuries. This is the third reported accident involving pedestrians in Roy crosswalks in the last few weeks.
This is a breaking story and will be updated.
