SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City International Airport has been named “Best Overall Airport” according to Lyft.
Out of 30 biggest airports in the country, SLCIA tops Lyft’s list with factors including convenience and amenities.
Ryan Chisolm takes a flight twice a month and recently headed out to visit his family for the holidays.
“It’s convenient,” Chisolm said. “Bathrooms are clean, you know ever since [the airport] added that extension now you don’t have to walk, you know, a marathon.”
With home base in Salt Lake, Chisolm said he loves seeing his favorite local eateries popping up more and more.
“I can appreciate that there’s a lot of local touch,” Chisolm said. “You’re not just going to hit, like, a Burger King. Like, there’s one in [the airport,] but like, there’s a Sunday’s Best in [the airport,] there’s also a White Horse in [the airport.]”
SLCIA Airport also topped their rankings for most affordable when it comes to parking cost, ride to and from and food options.
Holiday traveler Jessica Rogers was on her way to John Wayne Airport when she said the B gate makes a difference in travel.
“As long as you don’t go to the B gate, I would say that we have better amenities and restaurants,” Rogers said.
Even though Lyft’s ranking puts Salt Lake at the top for most efficient, Celeste Davis, like many others, dread the B gates.
“That’s always an adventure traveling with six… well I guess four of them are with us… four kidos,” Davis said.
Lowest number of cancellations helped the airport take top honors on Lyft’s website.
