SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department has cleared a suspicious package left near TRAX lines this morning.
In response to the package, the Utah Transit Authority ran a bus bridge for all TRAX lines between Central Pointe and 900 South stations out of an abundance of caution.
The SLCPD said it learned of the suspicious package at 10:24 a.m. Thursday after a call alerted them to it.
Police closed 1700 South between Jefferson Street and 300 West and called in the Hazardous Devices Unit.
The package was safely taken by the HDU and police reopened the roads by 12:37 p.m.
The UTA ends its bus bridge about ten minutes later and resumed normal operations.
The UTA advised passengers that it would have residual delays of no more than 10 minutes because of the situation.
