Sandy City racing to repair roads ahead of storm

SANDY, Utah — Even as a new storm blows into the Wasatch Front, crews in Sandy are trying to fill a bunch of new potholes on 11400 South.
Assistant Public Works Director for Sandy City, Paul Browning, said repair teams hit the road starting New Year’s Day.

The increased rain and snow Utah’s been getting has also caused road damage. Browning said they’ve been trying to beat the incoming storm.
According to Browning, the city fills an average of 2000 potholes a year.
Even with the greater number of repairs, Browning said this process won’t exceed the budget.
“We may have a lot more this year but we’re budgeted for that. We have maintenance dollars that handle that. It doesn’t put an undue stress on our maintenance budget. We have the money to get it done.”
