PARK CITY, Utah — The Summit County Council unanimously approved a recommendation on Monday to fire North Summit Fire District Chief Ian Nelson.
The approval comes two days after the North Summit Fire District Administrative Control Board recommended the move to the County Council. The decision was made without any discussion from the council.
“The board will make an interim appointment to the position of fire chief as soon as possible, followed by recruitment to permanently fill the vacancy,” the County Council said in a prepared statement.
The North Summit Fire District, made up of volunteers, serves the communities of Coalville, Echo, Henefer, Hoytsville, Upton, Wanship and Tollgate.
