Two dead after I-80 crash near Great Saltair

SALT LAKE CITY — Two people were killed in a car crash on Interstate 80 late Sunday night, according to police.
The Utah Department of Transportation said the crash happened at about mile marker 104 on the westbound side of the freeway. The westbound lanes were closed on I-80 at 7200 West.
Cpl. Eddie Wright with the Utah Highway Patrol confirmed two people had died. Two more people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Lt. Cam Roden with UHP said the crash happened at approximately 10:30 p.m., and five vehicles were involved. He said one of the vehicles was a semitruck.
Roden said the two people who died were in separate vehicles.
Police were still investigating the cause of the crash.
